Subject: Bye-pass railway line connecting Guruvayur and Shornur (1.5 km)
Respected Sir,
This is a humble request to Railways to actively consider a new bye pass railway line connecting Guruvayur and Shornur (1.5 km).
The proposed line when constructed will ease the pilgrims visiting Guruvayur Temple from the Northern Part of Kerala, as well as from Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and other northern states. Not only this, this bypass line will enable railways to run more trains to Guruvayur from these places. Since Guruvayur has got a national importance and Guruvayur railway station has got enough space for future development, the same may be raised to a nodal station.
In addition to the above, the proposed Guruvayur-Thirunavaya byepass line (35 km) will get a great connectivity when this become a reality. Since the Thrissur railway station has got limited scope for future development, in the matter of additional number of platforms, pit line, lodging facilities etc., the proposed bye-pass line will be a best option for future development. Also the area through the line may be laid is mainly barren/paddy field, so the land acquisition is easy.
The satellite picture showing the drawing of the proposed route is also attached for reference.
Hope that Railways will consider our request favourably.
Yours sincerely
