ATVM, another technological upgradation from Railways is being implemented in Keralam also. Regular passengers are encouraged to utilise (and not to tamper with) this new facility as long ques at booking counters can be avoided. Commission of Rs.30 is a once in a life time affair towards the cost of the smart card, which can be topped up for any number of times.

Thrissur Railway Passengers’ Association- TRPA is the confluence of all the stake holders who are interested in the development of Railway facilities in and around Thrissur. Naturally, all the people who avail the Railway facilities from Thrissur and other neighbouring stations are automatically the members of this association. Rail as most sustainable means of mass rapid transportation

With the worldwide demand for transportation expected to triple by 2050, the future of rail looks good. Rail is by far the most sustainable means of mass rapid transportation. With high speed trains it now represents a viable alternative to short haul flights, and often a more comfortable and convenient alternative to the motor vehicle. In addition to significantly lower energy usage / CO² emissions per passenger, when compared to road or air transport, rail systems require much less land than roads and therefore the environmental impact is further reduced. Since the 1980s there has been what is seen as a gradual ‘renaissance’ of Rail Architecture with High Speed Rail projects in France and Japan leading the way, along with new MRT projects across the globe being completed. As the world is gradually waking up to the reality of the climate crisis we enter a new era of Rail Transportation. This is an exciting new chapter in the development of rail projects. Also today Rail travel is being considered as the most cultured mode of travel of a civilised person
