Dear Sir,
This has reference to your email. In this connection, the remarks received from the Operating Branch of this Railway are appended below for your kind information.
"In the Railway Budget July 2009, the train between Madgaon-Ernakulam was announced to run as a weekly train only. Train No.0215 Madgaon-Ernakulam Exp. shares a common path with Train No.2484 Amritsar-Kochuveli (Weekly) Exp. and Train No.2288 Dehradun-Kochuveli (Weekly) Exp. from Madgaon to Ernakulam. Hence, it is not possible to increase the frequency of the train as tri-weekly."
Thanking you,
Yours faithfully,

    =================================================

    Federation of All goa Malayalee Associations FAGMA) express our sincere thanks to Miss.Mamata Banerjee and Mr.E.Ahamed for introducing the much awaited direct train Express train service exclussively between Goa and Kerala. .

    At the same time we regret to mention that the much awaited expectation of the Keralites living in Goa has not come into reality even today, as the train declared in the Railway Budget was a tri weekly train as against the weekly train which was flagged off from Eranakulam. Further the present schedule of the train and the destination of the train ( Madgao instead of Vasco-da-Gama ) is not beneficiant for the pepole travelling from Goa to Kerala .

    Scheduled departure of the train from Madgao is Sundays at 21.30hrs. But on sundays four other trains are passing through Madgao to Kerala ( Train 1907 at 13.05 ,No.2618 at 19.25 hrs, Train no.2998 at 20.45 and Train 6345 at 22.40 hrs.)

    Same way The train leaving from Erankaulam on Mondays noon at 14..35 hrs and reaches Madgao Tuesday morning at 0400hrs.. Mean time Train No.2997 at 1230hrs, and Train No.2617 at 13.45 hrs,6346 at 14.05,and 6334 at 20 00hrs are leaving on Mondays from Erankulam and reaches Madgao Tuesday morning at 01.30 hrs,,3.30 hrs and 5.50 hrs.. Since all these trains are running almost at the same times and the arrival and departure timings of the trains are at night , majority of keralites living at the harbour town Vasco, Capital city Panaji and northern parts of Goa would not be beneficiant as the Madgao Railway station is far away from the Madgao City. . A direct train on week ends from Vasco-da-Gama terminus is more convenient for the people travelling to Kerala.
    People from Kerala living in Goa requests tri-weekly train from Vasco-da-Gama (Goa) to Eranakulam leaving Vasco at noon.

    Note: We read from the news paper that the Minister has said the present weekly Madgao-Eranakulam train will convert into daily train if siffient people are travelling in this train.. Since the schedule timin g of the train is between a couple of trains and the train is running not on week ends it will not be convenient for majority of the people to travel in this train. Further pilgrimes travelling to Udupi, Kolloor, Murudeswar ete are also not beneficeient as the train reaches at night and has no stop at these places..
