EXTENSION OF TVC-EKM-TVC INTERCITY EXPRESS TO GURUVAYUR
*
Railways have extended the 6341/6342 Thiruvananthapuram- Ernakulam- Thiruvananthapuram Intercity Express to Guruvayur. Time being this extension is on a temporary basis. And it would be in force from 15/11/2009 to 20/01/2010.
.
Extension of this express is a long pending demand of TRPA, in view that the passengers from Thrissur and suburbs can commute to the Capital city, shall finish off a days work at Secretariat and so on and shall returnback on the same day, avoiding a stay, even without an advanced reservation .
*
Recently, TRPA had prioratised this demand and made representations and follow-ups in this regard with the Hon'ble Minister of State for Railways during his Jansamparka Yaathra, with our Hon'ble MPs, through the MLAs of the district and also during the recent station visit of GM, Southern Railway. The media has given a good support projecting the relevance of Intercity extension.
*
Now our efforts have reached a stage of fruition. Thanks to all......
*
We hope, this arrangement will become a permanent one very soon.

Very very bad .People from the Chalakkudi , Irinjalakkuda and Angamali need not go to Trivandrum and Secretriat. They belong to some other state ?This is the mindset of the Railway people.
ReplyDeletewe are trying our level best to take up this issue with the authorities, mr.anony. we shall hope for the best.
ReplyDeleteyou, the people from these areas also can take up your problem with the authorities. have you done any thing in this regard so far? we, the trpa give more focus and emphasis on the issues related to thrissur, which is obvious from its name itself.
ReplyDeleteso, go ahead... we also extend our arms to support you.
Very true. Thrissur Railway Passengers Association is for taking up issues related to Thrissur area. They are doing that job well.
ReplyDeletePassengers from other areas can also unite and put up similar fights.
Have you sent at least an E Mail to Railways requesting for the extension of this train? You can write letters in news papers also.
Criticising without doing anything constructive is very easy.
Just watch how these friends are working relentlessly for their area and try to emulate.
My mistake...sorry........When I came across this blog,I thought railway people are behind this.......sincere apologies.......keep it up.....best wishes........
ReplyDeletedear mr.anony,
ReplyDeletewe have incorporated the mail id of jdpg at the left side of the blog. you as well as your friends/ co-passengers/public can forward your suggestions / grievences
Isn't the timing of 6341 (to Trivandrum) a bit odd for passengers from thrissur considering the delay of almost 45 minutes in Ernakulam. If they could reduce the stay at Ernakulam by at least half an hour, the Railways could delay the start from Guruvayur by 30 minutes which could seriously help the passengers from Thrissur and Alwaye. Can we take this up with Railways?
ReplyDeleteYes very true. Considering the delay at ernakulam junction from arrival to the departure time, the same can be utilised by delaying the departure at guruvayoor. It will indeed be convenient to people like me from aluva.
ReplyDeletethe blog is very useful and informative very well done my sincere wishes for your activities.
ReplyDeleteIndian railway website says that the intercity exp travels only between trivandrum and ernakulam! One could not locate this train if they search this train beyond ernakulam (from trivandrum side).
ReplyDeletegood...
ReplyDeletey need partiality..i think railway is common property...
ReplyDeleteall the best trpa for doing thyr level best...
